Another great week down and here we are tallying up the work. Well not so much actually as we had 2 more events added to our weekly routine and a visiting Auntie from Australia.
On Monday, E had creative dance and started Science for home-schoolers at our local community centre. She loves her teacher there and enjoys the interesting experiments. This session is biology and she will be doing a project with a 5 minute presentation when the class wraps up in March. Reading today Tintin and the Secret of the Unicorn.
Tuesday E started PE at the CC will be learning sports skills this session. In our daily reading time we had some Dr. Seuss’ Fox in Socks and Berenstain Bears and finished Tintin.
Wednesday was Swimming lessons, a lunch play-date and Gymnastics. Reading today: Tintin in the Land of the Soviets.
She enjoyed her day at school on Thursday and is regularly bringing notes home to family members that she has written at the writing centre in class. We read a new book from Australia called Amazing Facts about Australian Birds by Steve Parrish and one old story that we love called: Edward the Emu.
She had a great time snowshoeing on Friday and made a friend from the Wednesday class. Reading: Winnie the Pooh’s Friendship Garden, Tintin in America
Our academics this week were more science oriented with lots of bird pictures, books and discussions/ observations with our expert Ornithologist Auntie. In writing, we managed a couple of journal entries and a birthday card to a Great-Auntie. Hoping for more sit-down work next week.
